Job Savers IDA

Job Savers IDA

People seeking a welding career may be eligible to receive financial support for the costs of completing training that leads to certification. Enrolling in a Job Savers Individual Development Account (IDA) provides an affordable way to pay for the costs of welding certification. Training is provided by R&S Welding Mentors LLC, a Salem welding school licensed by the Higher Education Coordinating Commission.

A Job Savers IDA is a 3 to 1 matched savings account. Upon completion of the savings goal, the amount saved by the participant will be matched by a 3 to 1 grant that can be used towards the cost of training, educational materials and work related tools and equipment. Additional funding needed may be available through the WorkSource Oregon scholarship assistance program.

Benefits:

    • Training in an employable skill with a good starting wage
    • Financial assistance that can cover up to 80% of the cost
    • Job placement assistance
    • Greater job security
